Soothing Shaving Bar $4

Retro, yes. But this is one of those cases where the old methods are actually better. A lot better, in fact. Specially formulated shaving bars offer a better shave than modern creams and gels that have been popular since the 1960s. A fine shaving soap produces a lighter and slicker lather, facilitating a smooth and nick-free glide.

Using Shaving Soap
To begin, place the soap in a mug and rub a moist, shaken out, shaving brush in a circular motion over the top of the shaving bar. Work the soap into the brush. As a lather starts to form the soap is picked up into the brush. Then rub the brush over your wet beard vigorously, so as to coat the beard completely as the lather builds. A drip of hot water in the center of the brush may help to work up the lather. Experiment over several shaves what works best for you.
